Goodbye 2015

Here we are at the end of 2015, how the hell did that happen? Like everyone says this year has flown by; in the blink of an eye and it has probably been one of the best in my eighteen years of living. A big statement I know haha.

So to end 2015 on 'inthestyleofjessica' and for my final blog post this year I thought I would do a run through of the best things to happen this year for me.

Moving out/University life.
2015 was the year I moved out into my own place, which is crazy as I still feel so young. Starting university was one of the best choices I think I could of ever made for myself. Not only has it given me the chance to grow and learn but I've meet some amazing friends and it has helped me over come a lot. Of course, having a load of uni fun is a bonus as well.

My anxiety is something I have not really talked about much online and for no real reason really. I'm beyond glad though that I feel like 2015 was the year where mental health was talked openly about, especially online. It's refreshing to see people be so open about it and it has made me want to speak about it more. This year has been an amazing year for me with my anxiety, which I am very grateful for. Since it all started at the age of 15 the four years after have and where some of the hardest times of my life but since starting uni and being more busy in general it has given me the chance to over come anxiety and reach a point with it that I am content and happy. I know it's always going to be an on going thing in my life but being older and wiser I know how to not let it control my whole life. So quick little note for anyone out there dealing with a mental health issue, 'It does get better, never give up'.

This year I've finally been able to get into a pescatarian / vegetarian lifestyle and stop eating meat. I've gave it many goes over the years but never been able to stick to it but this year it finally happened and there's no sign of me going back to meat anytime soon, woop!

Meeting the one and only..
I'm sure many bloggers would say the same but Alexa Chung has to be one of my favourite UK style icons and this year I actually got to meet her, not year but life equals made. As expected she was just as beautiful in real life and hilarious! Big thanks to the guys over at Nails inc and Beauty Bazaar Liverpool for making it happen.

Festival life
As I'm sure you all know Leeds festival is by far my favourite festival and of course it was / is always my favourite event of the year. Getting to see Mumford and Sons along with Sunset Sons (and many other artists) live was a big highlight for me this year. After all what beats live music? Not much!

I think it's safe to say this year was a pretty good one for me. A lot has changed, my perspective, my mentality, my feelings and the people in my life. I've made some mistakes and have some regrets which is only human but from them we only learn and grow as people. So here's to a happy, healthy 2016. The plan is to travel more, get fit, be ambitious and live life to it's fullest potential. Oh and how can we forget of course and dress really well ;)

See you all in the new year; and Goodbye 2015 you've been lovely!
